While the rainy season (June to November) has occasional tropical showers, this time of year can also offer fewer crowds and lush landscapes. Showers, if they do happen tend to short, sharp downpours.

    The hurricane season in the Caribbean is officially from Jun - Nov, with the higher risk areas being in the north of the region. St Lucia has had only 3 hurricanes in the past 40 years, 2010, 2007 and 1980!

    Renting a car is common, easy and safe on St Lucia. In fact it is the most efficient way of seeing the island beyond the tourist areas. Alternatively, taxis and local minibuses provide convenient and affordable options. Driving is on the left, but the roads are narrow and winding and it sometimes feels like you are in a scene from Jurassic Park it is so stunning (without T-Rex’s chasing you!).

But there are also some great local experiences that are popular with visitors such as The Friday Night Gros Islet Jump-Up (which is great fun) or you have the Anse La Raye Friday Night Fish Fry which is a combo of cold beers, DJ’s and the freshest sea food.
